WebStiles is a support group for Kaiser Permanente bariatric surgery patients in Hawaii. This site is intended as a resource for members of the group, as well as for potential members who would like to find out more about the support group, or about bariatric surgery (in general, and/or specific to what is being done by Kaiser Permanente Hawaii).

A History of Our Name

WebStiles is derived from the names of Dr. Carlos Webber (Web) and Dr. Sasha Stiles (Stiles). Dr. Weber was the first Kaiser Permanente surgeon to perform bariatric surgery for early members of the support group, and Dr. Stiles was the doctor who, because of a patient whom she had committed to support through and after the surgery, initiated the formation of the support group. Early members of the group voted on the name partly in tribute to these two individuals, and partly as a way to maintain some anonymity as to the nature of the support group.
